Lock Sim Card on Oppo Find X5

I want to activate the SIM card lock on my Oppo Find X5 but when I activate it it asks for a Pin Number. I was assuming that it was asking me to enter a new pin for the sim card but when I entered a pin it said that it was incorrect. Therefore, i'm assuming that the sim card must already have a pin number associated with it. Is this assumption correct and does anyone know where I can find the pin number that I should be entering.

@paulharrison57 The default pin is 1111 once you have entered that you’ll be able to change it to your own pin.

Very many thanks this was indeed the correct Pin. I have now successfully locked my sim car.
