Retrieve old T Mobile number

I used to have an old T Mobile number that I wish to retrieve. It is probably 15 years ago when I ended the contract and got a new line with a new number. I was not aware at the time that it was possible to keep the number. I called it and it is a dead line.

Is it possible to get it back and how?
