Swap to esim

I have an unlocked iPhone 11SE and want to swap from the psim to an esim to free up the sim slot for a work sim.

I have followed the instructions on My EE (downloaded the esim, named it, selected it etc) but will not accept the activation code sent to messages.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the advice.

Whereas before I was trying to install an esim via MY EE app on my phone I have now managed to install one and activated it via My EE on the web. All up and running now.
