@MonkeyHeadMan You can not have a stand alone Samsung watch contract it has to be on the same account as a Samsung phone and that phone has to be on contract and it’s linked to that device. Only with an Apple Watch can you have this type of tariff. But even that watch has to be setup via an iPhone on EE but it’s designed for someone to give that watch to say a child so they can keep in touch with them and they control how that watch can receive calls/texts. Apple have made this a feature of the Apple Watch/iPhone and the EE network supports it. Samsung doesn’t have such a feature ( yet )

  See HERE

and HERE is apples explanation on this.

Okay,

How about I buy a standalone smartwatch, eg Apple, Samsung, Ticwatch etc and have my number as a sim only and use the standalone watch as the phone?

My three kids have phones on the account... My number is already sim only.

Basically I just want one device, a watch I can use as a phone too.

@MonkeyHeadMan To have a Samsung watch it has to be on an account that has a Samsung device on it and it’s linked to that device, so when the phone is called the watch will also ring even if the phone isn’t with that person. You can not have a Samsung watch on its own as it uses phone allowance of the account it’s on.

The Tic Watch isn’t supported on the EE network so your on your own trying to get that to work on EE.

You can have an Apple Watch as a stand alone device but it still has to be setup via an iPhone that’s on EE. The owner of that iPhone is also the controller of that Apple Watch. This watch will have its own call/text/data allowance.

All smart watches are setup via the corresponding app on the phone. They do not just turn on and start working.
