As long as you are on a 5G plan, then you should be able to use 5G

Can you select 5G within mobile data, voice & data settings?

You can still use your old SIM in it if it fits but if you don't already have a 5G plan you'll only get 4G unless you upgrade your plan as well to a 5G one.

EE SIMs are not specific to any radio technology from 2G > 5G, they will work on all.

It is your plan that restricts access to 5G, so if you're not on a 5G-capable plan you will need to change in order to use 5G services.

You can do that using your existing SIM.
