topic Port new number in and keep old number. in SIM cards & Porting

Hi,

I have purchased an O2 number (with a PAC code) that I would like to use on my EE account instead of my current number. I'm on a sim-only contract with an eSIM, and I would also like to keep this number for a month or so until I have updated my phone number on all online services that I use to my new number.

I was thinking of requesting a PAC for my current eSIM, transferring it to a cheap PAYG SIM. Then porting my new number over. However, I'm not sure if this is possible because it would leave my account number-less until porting was complete. Also, can you even convert an eSIM to a physical PAYG SIM?

Any advice would be appreciated.

@do-not-delete If you try and port out your EE number you’ll be required to to pay off that contract. A number port is a termination of contract even if that is to a pay-as-you-go on EE.

You cannot move your current Ee number away from your account and retain that contract.

if you require a physical Sim card you can do this via your online account or by calling customer services and requesting a sim replacement.
