If I want to change my phone number will I be sent a new sim and will my old number no longer exist if my contacts were to try and contact me on my old number

Welcome to the EE Community

If you change your number, then the new number replaces your old number.

There's no need for a new SIM, your number can often be changed immediately you ask.

Unless this is for malicious call reasons, there is a charge for number changes.

Does this mean when my number changes my current number won’t be recognised?

Indeed so.

If you proceed with a change of number, your old number is disconnected to make way for the new one.

You can't have 2 numbers active on the same SIM at the same time.
