Hi Alex

Thanks for your help.

It’s not viable to connect via Ethernet. I might try the Bluetooth option again though.

i think i just need to upgrade my speaker as the hardware is now too old for my current other devices.

i might wait until next year when hopefully Sonos will release speakers which support 6ghz ssid WiFi 7. I don’t know if the music quality will be higher however.

Thanks for your help anyway Alex

jc

I’ve had a Naim Muso Qb v1 wireless speaker for many years and it’s been great.

However, since I got my newest ee WiFi 7 hub, it won’t play music through Apple AirPlay 2 with my new hub.

i have an Apple iPhone 12 Pro which I play the music from using Apple Music and it’s been great for several years, but since the new hub it drops tracks after a few minutes playing. The muso also frequently then disappears from the list of available devices on the phone.

ive tried using the legacy devices settings on the ee app but it makes no difference.

ive tried everything I can think of including asking Microsoft CoPilot, but a can’t get a specific solution for my hub and WiFi extender. The signal is great for all 3 devices, but it just doesn’t work anymore.

What else is it you have tried so far?

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

yes, I set up compatibility mode on the ee app and reset the muso network settings so it connected to the compatibility network but it didn’t make any difference.

i had an email from ee recently telling me I should move my WiFi extender, which I did and this greatly improved the signal strength to my phone and speaker and means I can use internet radio ok on my speaker, but I still have the same problems with Airplay 2, Apple Music and the speaker dropping out/tracks stopping.

@Jcjcjc2 Thanks for clarifying, if everything else is working ok on your network and compatibility mode has made no difference unfortunately there is not much else I can think to recommend to help that device from dropping out, though other users may be able to offer some advice if they have had similar issues.

I see that the speaker has an ethernet connection, have you tested out connecting it via ethernet to see if that makes a difference? I appreciate it may not be practical long term depending on your hub position, but worth seeing it it does get rid of the problem. Similarly rather than use airplay, have you tested streaming from the phone via a Bluetooth connection to see if no drop outs occur?
