You can just apply for unlocking by using the Unlocking your device form and giving its IMEI no., which you can obtain be dialling *#06# into its keypad.

This doesn’t work for me. When I enter my IMEI number it just says there’s an error at their end and to try again. I’ve been trying for days.

@Noogccji3 : Have you inserted the non-EE SIM & supplied the unlock code to it when it asks?

Did you manage it in the end? When I hit the "unlock" button online after entering the IMEI and confirming the model it takes me straight back to stage 1 again 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yes it's STUPID!!!

I must have been around that loop five times trying to figure out what I missed.

They tell you everything except that as soon as you get the unlock code displayed, that's all you can do there.

Write down the unlock code.

Turn off the phone and take out EE SIM and then put in the SIM of the network you want to use. Now turn the phone back on.

As soon as you get to the login screen (swipe up, right, or whatever your phone needs) then it will ask you for the unlock code and you just tap in the code there carefully and tap the Unlock link. It will instantly unlock at that point. You will see the new SIM log on to the new network giving you some signal strength bars. That's it.

I see messages on here from almost a year ago with people having this exact problem and EE have done nothing to explain it.

Hopefully people will find this message at least
