Premium insurance

My phone decided to die one night whilst I was asleep and refused to turn back on in the morning. Being insured I contacted EE to repair or replace my phone ,which they did. My phone in pristine condition was always in a case front and back, never been dropped or came in contact with any liquid but EE in their infinite wisdom deemed I should pay £100 for the refurbished phone I received . What is the point of insurance if this is the case.

Welcome to the community.

I'm sorry to hear that your phone stopped working.

How long have you had the phone for? The replacement devices are refurbished, cleaned and tested before being sent out as a replacement for faulty, damaged, lost and stolen devices.

Yes but surely if my phone was faulty I shouldn't have to pay for a replacement.

Hi @Trebor_666,

There wouldn't be an excess to pay if it was a warranty replacement, but there is for insurance replacements.
