Free gift offer from EE,is this a scam?

I received a notification from what looked like EE saying I'm eligible for a free gift. Went through a survey (no major details given away) and now it has routed me to a different page ([mod edit: removed to ensure safety]) - has anyone else had this and is it legitimate?

Had this pop up after clicking on a link from Google news page, is it a scam , free Samsung galaxy 10 from ee, for being a customer with you for so long, asked me loads of questions then redirected me to this website -: promosurvey1.net

I got this as a pop up too. Looked very authentic with ee logo and even 'satisfied customers'. It said this promo is run every Sunday. Beware

Hi,

Today i fell for this. Stupidly. The logo was professional and looked just like your EE one.

I thought EE (and the community) would like to know this scam is still going on.

I did get an email reply (the message originally just came up while I was browsing online) and the company says it is erler.com and it provides 'after services' for clients.

Hope EE can look into this. Thanks all.

If you have entered any bank details get in touch with your bank and let them know, if you can also make sure any password is changed in any accounts related to your email address.

If you still have the email can you forward this to phishing@ee.co.uk we will get this looked into.

Yes it's a scam. I received an interruption on-line saying that your IP address has been one of ten selected for customer loyalty etc. Instructions then asked to complete a 3 question survey, which then takes you through to the scammer's site, with picture of your prizes which you are asked to claim within a minute as you are shown a clock ticking down, together with pictures and comments (all false) of people who have won and how great it has all been. The scam claims that you have to pay for the postage of your free gift. THAT'S THE ENTRAPMENT! They take you that far and hope the've hooked you; you pay the postage and they copy and use your payment details for their own purposes. DELETE AND DON'T GO THERE!!

It happened to me just now!!
How on earth can they send pop up message on my IPhone!
I never win anything so I clicked on it until it asked for payment (£1.68) for postage...

Then I closed it and it disappeared.

Do I need to do anything else to my phone?

@Villie_x Providing you didn’t do anything else you’ll be okay but what you can do is go to settings/Safari and then toggle on block pop-ups.

I also received a notification for eligibility for a free gift. Went through the survey which asked for address and phone number but nothing else. Supposedly won a Galaxy S21 but then the notification disappeared. The link was very well done and of high quality (it had an RTA logo at the bottom, not sure what that is)...am now hoping i don't pay for surrendering basic personal details.

@KRAM03 I recommend you change your password for any account information you gave. Also you might want to contact your bank about this.

Just to add any notification you get about free gifts should be a red flag. It’s only a notification not a direct contact with you.

@KRAM03 : If you gave no bank or card details you can't possibly be charged.
