Abusive phone call

Hi I received a call from a private number I said hello they swore at me then they hung up! I don't give my number out and I don't know anyone who would do that! Any ideas.

Malicious calls should be reported to the police on 101.

It could just be someone calling a wrong number.

@Nicolamaro123 most mobiles can block these number, I suggest you block the number or if these keeps happening then you might need a new number. You don't need to give your number out as it's likely already out in the public domain.

It could absolutely be a wrong number, but I wouldn't expect a genuine caller to swear. It depends how much of an issue the OP wants to make of this - the police would be a good move if these calls were persistent - but a single spam caller is indeed different.

You can't block withheld numbers individually, but most phones have a "do not disturb" option where you whitelist numbers that are allowed to call you. Any others will be dumped straight to voicemail.
