Had a call today, 1st October 2026 from someone saying he was from EE and that may SIM card needed replacing as I will not have a connect in two days times, at least, that is the jist as he had a very strong Indian sub continent accent and spoke very fast I thanked him and rang off. The number was 0118 417 0729 and I have now blocked it as sounded like a scam.

Thanks for taking the time to highlight this, @Mainzer

That call definitely isn't genuine - I've heard of similar scams pretending to be from other networks using the same line about SIM Cards.

You can report this to our security team by checking out our webform here, and you can also find details of the numbers our team will call from here:

Numbers EE partners will call from | Profile Help | EE

As a general rule though, if you're ever the slightest bit unsure on whether a call is genuine, it's always best to err on the side of caution.
