When it mentions the country code, for UK numbers you just need to replace the 0 at the start with +44 and this will be accepted.

It's also possible to report these via text, too. Just send a message with CALL followed by the number to 7726.

Since changing to EE mobile I receive 4-5 scam calls every week always around 11 am, mostly from random UK mobile numbers or business numbers, every time they say we know you have an EE phone we are offering promotion etc. It's an endless barrage of scam calls all from EE, this never happened when i was with other networks, it feels like when i signed up all my data was leaked / sold online.

I called support and gave all these numbers but it makes no difference because they are just spoofing numbers constantly, i have seen this is a huge issue with EE. (Tons of forums and posts on website and reddit etc.) I just want to get this out there they need to find out who and why are they selling data and find a way to stop this madness, I will now need to switch to another provider which is a shame because I was happy with EE before this started.

I raised a complaint with EE a few weeks ago because, unlike every other network I’ve been with, the volume of scam calls I receive with EE is constant. I asked a very direct question: does EE sell customer numbers to third parties, or sell access to the electoral roll to businesses?

Nothing was answered. All I got back was “we’ll log it.”

At this point, EE should be facing fines. where you choose to do nothing as business you should be fined. If the Government reduce scammers they need to impose fines to these networks.
If a network provider can’t control or filter obvious scam traffic, that’s a failure of basic consumer protection. The technology exists, the filtering is straightforward, and other networks manage it. EE simply chooses not to upgrade its systems, and customers are left dealing with the consequences.
Maybe 🤔 a collective action should be sought, hit EE with a £Multi million pound penalty for fraud, that might help the network sort it self out.

Welcome to the Community, @Bekrii96

Our Complaints team are not going to be able to tell you how or why your call was picked up by scam callers.

I can reassure you that this definitely wouldn't have been from us though, and the complexity of blocking these calls arises from the fact they commonly use spoofing to make this look like a normal UK number.

We always recommend customers report these to us using our form here and from there we can investigate further.

If you remain unhappy with the outcome of your complaint, you're welcome to take this to the Ombudsman for independent review, too.

Full details of this process can be found in our complaints code of practice.

That’s great advice, Peter.

But are we meant to do when the form itself doesn’t work ?

because it’s been designed in a way that conveniently favours the fraudster & the scammer? At that point it’s not a process, it’s a shield.

Another classic BT/EE “solution”
which really isn’t a solution at all. You can’t ban the people who are actually paying the subscription fees, can you? That would hit the revenue stream of the scammed. And without them, how else would these two make their money?

Telephone number 02083233920 - that called me.

read out from the **bleeped** Bt form

Enter a valid phone number, including the country code
