Hi, also had this very same scenario but the number calling me was 02033714461. Told the caller I was very new to EE so already had the newest SIM card. He was very pushy and insisted I was wrong. I knew the minute he didn’t take “no, I have already got the most up to date SIM” for an answer that it was a scam call. Advised I wasn’t taking his call any further as I was suspicious of the legitimacy then he hung up. Reported to EE and BT and blocked number.

March 2026, Just received a phone call from 02033714467, claiming to be in the UK but sounded like an Indian call centre. Due to the EE / BT merge, he explained I need a new SIM and DPD would deliver it tomorrow. Sent me a text message to my number with a 6 digit PIN, which he said had been generated by the system, then asked for the PIN which I refused to give him. He got frustrated and hung up. Checked with EE and it’s deffo a scam !
