Had a text message from +44 7462 232910

saying

Yes it is a scam. Forward the message to 7726 ( SPAM) and then the number when prompted.

@Leanne303 : It's obviously a scam! The link in it is not even to EE (domain ee.co.uk).

There are many of these going the rounds. EE would never send you a msg asking you to click on a link in order to access your a/c.

I decided not report it to 7726 (for reporting suspicions text numbers) 🙂

I had the same text from the above number regarding 12,739 points that would expire in 3 days - offers of a £6k massage chair for 12,200 points immediately identified this as a scam so have forwarded to 7726 and wanted to notify others.

Hi, I'm afraid I fell for it and did give the details requested on the link, including card details to pay for postage. The transaction did not go through, I think my bank denied it (wiser than me obviously!)

Should I contact my bank to replace the card

It isn't obvious to everyone though, is it!

Some people (especially older people) are less proficient at determining what is or is not a scam....hence the reason for these help pages.

Try to not be so judgemental.

Yes, I would recommend contacting your bank and explaining what has happened, that way they will be able to determine the best way course of action.

I would definitely recommend highlighting this with your bank right away, as these details will have been compromised, and you'll 100% want to request a new card, too.

If you shared any EE account details too, such as your login email address and password, I would definitely recommend a password reset, which you can sort over at myaccount.ee.co.uk.

Finally don't forget to forward this message to 7726 so it can be reported to our security team.

I wasn’t being judgemental at all, merely highlighting that the scammers use the same script to everyone. By the way, I am one of the older users you have chosen to patronise, one of the generation who invented the technology you seem to think we can’t use.

I had the same but i stupidly enters my debit card details which was followed by a message that i cant use this method of payment or something like that, am i in trouble now that i entered my details?
