Potential Scam Call

I just received a call from 020 8153 3534 claiming to be EE.

Despite London caller ID it sounded like an Indian call centre. They were saying that they were sending a new SIM card due to 5G network upgrades. It sounded very much like a scam, yet they somehow seemed to have all of my personal details: phone number, address, type of phone, monthly bill etc.

In connection with this call, I received an email from no-reply@info.ee.co.uk saying 'We've deleted your EE ID'; and another email from no-reply@inform.ee.co.uk.

Can anyone confirm if this was a scam call or not? If it is, should I be taking any action given that they seemed to have access to all my account details?

This number is not an EE number and is not listed on our Numbers EE partners will call from page, so please report the call using the Report a scam call form.

If you provided any passwords, please change these to stay safe and contact your bank if any payment details were shared.

It's also worth calling our Mobile Care team so they can check over your account and make sure everything is secure.

Yes, I have just had exactly the same call, but they added that they had amalgamated EE and BT, don’t know if that’s right? Don’t know how much info he had on me, because I asked if I was going to be cut off from this call and he didn’t understand me!? So I asked to be put on to somebody I could understand and who understood me, he put the phone down.

is it worth me checking my account is secure too?

Welcome to the EE Community

You can find a list of numbers that our genuine EE partners will call from on our help page. If the call was not from one of them then it will have been a scam.

Also our scam help page has information on how to avoid scams, report scam calls and also things you may want to check to make sure your EE account is secure.

As long as you did not give out any personal information on the call or click on any links, you should be ok, but if you are worried you can also give us a quick call on 150 and our team can check no one has tried to access your EE account.

I had exactly the same today. I asked them to email me all the info as I was driving, i did not give them my email or any information and had no email so guessing it was a scam too.
They did have a lot of my info name / mobile number

I have had a call from 020 8036 2850 as well stating my sim is out of date. Is this an ee number? I have received an email telling me anything about my sim??

Yeah I had one of them recently too and yep an Indian accent and claiming to be from EE PROMOTIONS
