Is someone at EE customer service selling customer personal data? 😬

I got a scam call claiming to be EE and asking for my name and email address one day after I called EE’s real number.

Seems like a strange coincidence since it’s the first targeted EE scam call like this I’ve ever received.

Could the call centre employee have sold my number to scammers? Could EE be compromised? Slightly concerned now.

Doubtful, scammers just tend to try their luck and say they are from a network

Likely coincidence you had one saying they were from EE a short while after you actually contacted EE

It was from a uk mobile number. I called EE afterwards and they confirmed it wasn’t from them

You can always check if a call is genuine and from us on our How Do We Contact You page,
or if the call was from our Direct Partners at Phone numbers EE partners will call from, without having to call Customer Service.
