Yes, I received a call a few minuets ago, around 17: 25, 12th Aug, telling me something very similar. Sadly I don't have patience for this idiots and told the guy, I hadn't received anything official from EE i.e. email/letter advising of such information. I'm so grateful I follow scam baiters on YouTube, they're amazing. The number he called from is 07379873041. I've blocked the number.

Possible Scam

I received a call from 07402 795453 and a man was telling me about EE deactiviating sim cards due to user complaints and he was gonna be sending me a new one. I was talking to him for a while and I was uncertain if it was a real ee employee. He sent me an email from what appears to be the actual ee no reply email with a passcode to read to him and then he transferred me to his supervisor where he then told me something bout paying 30 pounds and that's when I hung up and then received multiple calls from 2 numbers I didn't recognize 01323 912894 and 01323 912839. It just was very suspicious to me. I've changed my ee passwords but I just want to know if this is/was a scam.

Thanks very much for bringing this to our attention, and you've done the right thing by being cautious here. Changing any EE passwords is a great shout too, just be on the safe side.

I've looked through Phone numbers EE partners will call from and How do we contact you? help pages, and I can't see any of these numbers listed.

Nothing about these calls seems genuine, so please make sure you report this to us using the online form.
