I've had the same conversation - 30% off the mobile bill.

They asked for the first few characters of my password (which I refused) and then asked me to give my email address.

It's 99.9999% a scam.

Block the number and move on.

Question for EE - are you aware of a data breach taking mobile numbers? Or is there another way scammers can derive the mobile phone provider from the mobile number?

30% Off EE Bills - Possible Scam?

I have received repeated calls from 07451 288537 telling me I have been randomly selected to receive 30% off my mobile bill.

I was suspicious from the first call, which I hung up, that it might be a scam. The fact they kept calling made me believe that further. I have since blocked the number but wanted to share with others too.

If its not a scam, I will gladly take 30% off my bill!! Perhaps EE can let me know here?!

You can also report these calls by texting CALL followed by the number, to 7726

This is the same principle as the spam-text reporting service, but just using the CALL prefix

If in doubt call a number your comfortable with and any real representative that’s called you will be happy for you to do this 👌

hope this helps 👌

Hi @jryan999.

Thanks for coming here.

I can totally understand your concern with this one, but unwanted marketing calls are problems that affect users of all mobile networks and aren't an indication of a data breach.

The prefix of your mobile number indicates which network it originated with, so it's likely this that they are using to guess which network a user is on.

If you're ever unsure about a call you receive claiming to be from us, you can check the numbers we will call from HERE.
