My Granddaughter tried to commit suicide due to treatment by EE

Can someone please advise me/help me. I have been with EE for 25 years. I have my phone, business and tv with them.

My Granddaughter who is 19 and fresh out of college was telephoned by a company who supposedly got her details from the Indeed website. So she became a mystery shopper. She was advised to go to all the differing mobile phone providers purchase contracts and phone and then she gave them to her boss at the Mystery shopper company. Obviously, she was completely naive and if I or her Mother had known the full extent we would have stopped her but also as it was supposedly through Indeed she thought it was legitimate. Obviously, it turned out to be a complete scam, we rushed her straight to the Police who said they knew about this scam being perpetrated on youngsters and she was given a crime reference number. Every single phone provider on receiving the crime reference cancelled her debt apart from EE. They instructed a company called DRS who constantly ring her and threaten her, she is so distress she tried to take her life last week. I have spent over 11 hours on to EE, on seven telephone calls, they put me through to the debt department who then say they have sent a full and detailed message to the Fraud Department and that they would call me. The first time was two weeks ago they were to call me on Friday before 5pm and nobody has called me. We are all our wits end and we do not know what to do. I can only think to now go to the media and shame EE. I will be cancelling everything I have with them. Any advice would be so helpful. I have filled in two complaint forms, nothing, as well.

@Thompsonp1 A mystery shopper shouldn’t be using their own banking information to take out any contacts. It’s a legal agreement between both parties,
That’s got scam all over it from the start because of just having to use your banking info. Have you reported this to Indeed as well? You need too.

Im not sure where she stands legally as she willingly took out a contract in her name. Hopefully EE sees sense on this and waves the termination costs and blocks the device.

EE's complaints process allows referral to external arbitration after 8 weeks if unresolved.

I strongly agree with the recommendation to seek independent legal advice. Following the formal complaints process should be part of any sensible advice, but a legal professional would be able to cast judgment on the contract cancellation angle.
