Hi from EE. Be alert to fraud - if you didn't ask for this, don't share it, please call us on 0330 123 1105. Your PIN for resetting your EE ID security answer is 8258. Thanks. Received convincing call from EE on 02080808822 stating that they wanted to update my SIM card ? Please stay safe there number is now not recognised!

Welcome to the community.

Thanks for sharing your experience. It certainly isn't a call from EE, but the text does seem like it could be genuine, and that someone was trying to access your account. Did the text come from a number?

It is worth giving our customer service guides a call, and letting them know what has happened, so they can make sure your account is secure.

You can also report the call as a scam call on our Report a scam or nuisance call form.

Ive had the exact same situation, a call from someone caliming to be from EE talking about updating their network. They send me a text with a pin and then asked me to confirm it back, but I was pretty dubious so didn't give them the number and eventually hung up.

You can't be too careful and glad you shared no details if this was a scam call.

Any scam calls you get, you can report them by completing our Report a scam or nuisance call form.

If you do receive any calls in the future saying they are from EE, you can check if it is a genuine call on our Phone numbers EE partners will call from page.

Just had call with the same message. When I refused to repeat the code to them I was told to go to hell.
