Hi @TP94

We've not had an update on the change of access to the website, which is why we've not yet responded.

However, to avoid any disappointment I'd just like to set some expectations, as other members have mentioned the services provided on the website appear to be aimed towards an 18+ audience, so it's unlikely the site would be reclassified on our Content Lock filter.

Have a look at What are your parental control settings? to find out more about the Content Lock classifications.

I noticed your site is "https". We block secure sites (sites with https in the URL) for all users with the 'Strict Content Lock' setting in place. This means your webpage will show as ‘Timed out’ or ‘No response’ for them.

Hope this helps!

Ali

Hi there,

Our website - www.stagweb.co.uk - won't load on EE mobile data for some people. We believe that content lock is restricting our site, but it's not affecting any of our competitors in our niche. Is it possible to get it reviewed and allowed for all EE customers?

We've checked it on www.blocked.org.uk and it doesn't flag any issues.

Thanks,

Tom

I just ran another check on that blocked.org.uk and it's now showing EE as having 1 active block - I've submitted a an unblock request through the website. Is there anything more I need to do?

The Content Lock may be blocking it as it is related to Stag Do's which are typically Over-18 affairs. The website makes mention of "lap dance clubs" etc which may flag up and be the reason for the block. I don't make a habit of looking at stag do sites currently so I am unable to say what the situation is with competing sites and why they wouldn't be flagged. I would argue the case that they all probably should be.

Those that are unable to access it would need to move their content lock to allow 18+ content.

I am able to access your site without any issue, as my content lock is set to allow 18+ content.

Yeah, a lot of our competitors have the same offerings, but don't seem to
get flagged.

If we were to tidy up the site and remove the offerings, is there a way we
can request to be reviewed or would it happen automatically?

Impossible to say, I am unsure how often EE tends to review their criteria against sites on their Content Lock block lists.

I would imagine it would need to be manually reviewed somehow.

Welcome to the EE Community, and thanks for flagging this too.

As others have mentioned, it may be that the inclusion of activities linked with 18+ entertainment is what's caused it to be picked up by the moderate content lock option.

I've shared this thread with the relevant team to see if any review is possible, but I can't guarantee it's something we'll be able to change.
