It's not a matter of which firm it is. It's the law about distance selling that you only get a statutory cooling-off period when you order by phone or online, not instore.

Hi

Took a broken iPhone to genius and quoted £400 to fix. Walked straight to my local EE shop and asked about getting a new handset. Fast forward 2 hours and I found myself with two new handsets, a ‘free’ Nintendo lite, a ‘free’ apple watch and two free screen cases.

however, despite asking SEVERAL times if 25gb was the lowest available I came home only to find the deal I signed up for in store I could get £12 cheaper online and found an EVEN cheaper 5gb deal more suited to my 12 year old daughter.

apparently online and store are ‘totally different’ and in store has no cooling off period!!!! Surely EE is one company? Prior to this the store had been calling and calling me to upgrade my handset so I just assumed it was all the same.

i feel like I have been complete scammed

has this happened to anyone else?

Good morning @Fireland74, welcome to the EE Community.

With online and our retail stores they do often have similar plans and products available, but occasionally there will be special offers that are exclusive to that channel.

It is correct that retail don't have the same 14 day cooling off period as our online purchases, but if you have any concerns about the package you've been sold we would always recommend you return to the original point of purchase to query this.

If you aren't able to get this sorted there, then our customer care team can help look into things further, but we'd always recommend popping into the branch as a first port of call 😊
