Gift from EE - is this real?

Hi, several months ago I received a message from EE saying that I have accumulated a lot of points (? ) and can exchange them for a gift. Was this a real thing or some scam? I have still not received the said gift.

As far as I am aware, there are no points to accumulate, not heard that one before. What gift did you then order?

This indeed does sound like a scam to me. Do you have the message or number from when it was sent to you?

Hi,

The gift was an electric toothbrush, haha. I sort of googled around at the time and it seemed like it's a thing, the points and the gifts, and the website looked quite legit.

I have found the messages and they are from like 073 and 077 random numbers, so yeah, must have been a scam. Certainly if the points are not a thing 😄

@dubravkapezic : It's a scam! There are many of these going the rounds. EE would never send you a msg asking you to click on a link in order to access your a/c.

Does it have a link in it that it tells you to click? Don't go there but what was the link?

Report spam texts to your network provider by forwarding the text to 7726 (S.P.A.M. on your keypad).

@dubravkapezic ,that certainly is a scam, and so long as you did not give out any personal details, bank details or passwords, you should be ok, sorry about that.

There was a link, yes. I honestly don't even remember if i gave any details 😕 I normally would find that suspicious as EE have my details, so I doubt I would have done that.

Certainly a cautionary tale, thanks for the rapid responses.

I have now designated the numbers as spam.

@dubravkapezic To order the “toothbrush” you’ll been required to login it’s how this scam works.
You need to change your EE password and also probably inform your bank.
