Hiya I had a phone call yesterday saying because I was a loyal customer. They were offering me 40% off my bill as well as a free gift hamper that was a Apple Watch 8

they give me a call back to say the watch will arrive today. I really thought it was EE because the email they sent me looked like EE and they were able to tell me all my details and how much my bill is but I believe it was a scam now. And I feel so stupid and worried
they have my all details and they’ve taken £30 already but it says it’s from O2 online order in slough

I’ve changed my password for my EE account. What else can I do. And has anyone else had this ?

Hi there,

I have just experienced the same thing this morning. Felt very silly and was kicking myself after - I’ve now cancelled my card and spoken to my bank so hopefully no payment will be taken.

could have happened to anybody - I believe EE may have been impersonated because some emails were form their address and texts from their official number too.

Had a similar call just now saying 40% off. I told him my bill was 80. He said it would reduce to 60. I said that's 25% and he hung up!!!

I reported the number.

Previously, someone 'from EE' phoned offering a free iPhone delivered to my door. Pity they couldn't find the address on the screen! I even chose the colour and everything!!!

Thanks for reporting this to us, @Muqbool.

I'm glad to hear that you managed to spot things weren't right just at the last moment when they originally called, too.

If you shared any personal details at all during that call, such as an account password or PIN, I would still recommend giving our team a call so we can make sure your account is fully secure at our end.

It's also worth resetting the password for your online account, too.

I have just had the same thing. Refused to give them my details. Gave them my name quickly but refused to spell it and refused to give my date of birth. She said she can put keto a supervisors and will send a text. I said it doesn’t prove they are from EE unless I see it’s an EE text then it’s a scam. Funnily enough no text come through… thought giving an Apple Watch and hamper and discount on my bill was too good to be true.
People please be aware.
