Return calls

I have recently upgraded to iPhone 15, and kept the same number. I have received 4 calls from people saying they are returning my call. I have not contacted any of these people, Unfortunately 2 of these have been VM and the 1st couple I did not think to ask what number they where after. Why is this happening?

@Marie2902 sounds like your number has been spoof by someone who thinks it’s funny to call other people pretending that it’s you calling and giving a missed call. It’s just coincidence that you happen to have a new phone.
