Online & telesales purchases come with a statutory 14days "change of mind" right of return. You will need to exercise that cancellation, and then re-order or purchase the item you now prefer.

If this was an upgrade order, the upgrade will need to be fully cancelled before you can purchase again. Also be aware phone purchases at EE retail stores do not come with the same 14days "change of mind" right of return, so phones you buy that way are non-refundable.

So I’ve just ordered a 16 pro via phone, I was wondering if I could exchange that device for the 16 pro max if I take it into store as I was told the price would be £76 a month where the 16 pro max is £55 a month with the same calls texts and data
