Received a totally different used phone from what was ordered

My daughter ordered a new phone from EE early this week ,shipped via DPD it didn’t arrive on the first day it was supposed to and then arrived 4 hours past the quoted delivery but this was not the worst of it..

my daughter opened the package and inside was a used iPhone 14max pro,the packaging was open and no seal on the phone box but paperwork stated iPhone 16 and a case was enclosed for an iPhone 16

after speaking to customer service the EMI number of the phone received was registered in Australia

this has now got to be investigated by dispatch who told her to email them the details but still awaiting a response and in the mean time no shiny new phone

can anyone shed any light on this please? I think it’s been stolen at some point but how and by who?

@Rich2984 Between EE and you it entered the DPD supply chain so between EE and you it’s not hard to guess.

It could of been switched on route or at dispatch warehouse find out which one and track it from there Thier will be a log of some sort
