I’m glad I did, because the Guide showed me how to have both SIMs in the phone at once, so I could start using the EE SIM straight away, but leave the O2 SIM active for incoming calls on my existing number until the PAC code kicked in today, after which I could disable the O2 SIM.

I would not have realised I could do this, left to my own devices.

When I got home from town, the posted SIM was there and waiting. But I think I got a better experience by being impatient 😛

I ordered an EE sim last week, delivery promised by Saturday, to replace my O2 contract sim, which expires today.

I have had an email to say the EE direct debit has been set up, but nothing else, and nothing has so far arrived.

If it doesn’t come in the post today, can I go into my local EE shop and get one fitted there?

I have my PAC code ready.

What happens if the O2 contract expires now - does the phone stop working, or do I get an unwanted bill for an out-of-contract month?

If so, will EE reimburse me for this?

Hi @Midnight_Voice

EE send SIM Only orders by 2nd class post so do not guarantee delivery dates for them.

You can go into a store, take photo ID, and they should be able to give you a replacement SIM.

If you are using a PAC from o2, your phone will not stop working, and your service with O2 will continue until EE takes the number over. You'll keep paying o2 until then.

If O2 is anything like EE your contract should just continue after its min. term on a rolling 30-day notice basis or until it is ported away. I would expect it is as contract users would not want their phones to stop dead when they reach their min. term & surprise them. These mobile contracts are not fixed term contracts.

EDIT: I've confirmed with O2 & it is so.

So I am handing EE nearly £300 of almost pure revenue - it’s a contract sim, not PAYG - and they are nickel-and-diming me over a stamp 😢
