Pixel Fold 9 Pro delivery dates?

Hi. When will the Fold 9 pro be delivered? I believe the release date is Wednesday coming. Will they be sent out on Wednesday or be delivered on Wednesday? I ordered a few days ago, but there is no tracking. When I type my order number in it just gives me a red box with "sorry you can't track this order type just yet".

Oh wow I didn't think of that. You're knowledge is impeccable. Maybe could you answer the actual question? Do pre orders arrive on the day of release or the day after?

It does seem really poor from EE. This is the first time I've pre ordered a device through them, and the experience isn't great.

They will know well in advance how many units they'll be recieving - this won't be a surprise on launch day as that's not how supply chains work.

The fact they cannot tell people a few days out from release if they've been allocated a device and when it will arrive is pretty staggering, regardless of the fact this is a £1700+ device.

When I spoke to EE today they said the Fold was on back order for 20+ days. Then again I'm not 100% sure they knew what they were doing anyway, so don't take it as fact.

They said the same to me, but when you go onto their current product page it says they have stock to deliver on the 4th! Fingers crossed.

This is what I'm hoping considering you can still buy the handset direct from Google for delivery on the 4th.

I just wish the order tracking / communication was better rather than placing an order and having your fingers crossed for a delivery at some time, with the customer services team not having access to the information they need either. I've not had this experience pre ordering any product from any other retailer.

The price over two years was very close between upgrading or buying the handset outright through Google and having a separate SIM only contact. I've only go until the 5th to cancel and buy outright if EE can't fulfil the order quickly in order to get a good trade in value and model upgrade, so communication and some actual tracking would be lovely.

Shouldn't be too much to ask in 2024.

It's really not that great is it? I don't understand how they can't let you know where you are in line. They must know how many units they're getting Vs how many orders they have.

Just called up myself and was told pre orders were on a backlog of 28 days! Honestly I'm so disappointed after being told multiple times that it'd be available on release day

Yeah, that's awful. I was told the same, ie I'd have it on release day.

I don't blame the customer service people or store staff as they're just doing their jobs, but there's something very wrong here.

I'll give it until Tuesday morning. If there's no order update and no ETA I'll go elsewhere.

Whaaaat. They said similar for me, but not quite the same. Orders placed now would be at circa 28 days, but that status doesn't apply to historic orders. He indicated that orders placed a while back would be allotted from a different shipment?

Also, someone in reddit mentioned their order tracking said a dispatch of 4th.....

Well I ordered last week and was told by email to contact EE regarding the order to process it. They told me on the phone it would be the day after release day. I don't think they know...

Hi all.

The current guidance for new orders is to expect 'dispatch in more than 28 days'.

We will clear orders as we receive stock from the manufacturer and they will be sent out in the order in which they were placed, clearing the oldest orders first.

Thanks Chris - that's what's expected, but it doesn't answer people's questions really.

I should imagine Google or their logistics company aren't just going to back up a lorry with a random number of devices on day one; EE will know exactly how many they'll have on day one, next batch etc, and have allocated them to orders.

Seeing as Google who have only been in the direct-to-consumer market for a few years can still provide a moving week-wide delivery date for handsets, why can't EE?

The comms / tracking is pretty awful. I've never bought anything else where I've commited to buy an item and not had even a rough delivery date in writing, not even factory ordered cars.

Well if that is the case why was I told next week when I ordered on the phone last week? I was told the day after the 4th. Are you saying that won't be the case for me? Is there a way of checking this for long-term customers that are slightly disappointed with this order process?

Also your store is still saying delivery from the 4th. It would be more truthful if it said from 28 days AFTER the 4th. Maybe beginning of October would be more accurate?
