    <description>&lt;P&gt;It is in the context of an audio installation. Single ended audio source connection to a balanced input.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Often you see that one of the balanced inputs (the cold line) is connected to the single ended return line, which normally is signal ground from the source, as well as to signal ground at the receiver end.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I believe this last connection is not required (assuming you have enough headroom), but I'm not sure.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Jan&lt;/P&gt;</description>
