enquiring as i have no real knowledge or understanding of how Wi-Fi stuff works,

when i plug in an ethernet wire to my router in the yellow ethernet ports on the back, i get great connection on my computer with the ethernet connection installed, but most other devices on the network start getting disconnected and displaying the message 'cannot connect to network [name of my network]'.

on the hub manager it shows an orange box that says something called 'hybrid connect' is disconnected which i haven't seen before.

i just want to know what is causing this to happen and how i can remedy it?

Hybrid Connect is a mobile router that works in conjunction with the SH+ when the fixed BB goes down. If you don't have 1 that "hybrid connect is disconnected" msg is to be expected.

so does ethernet not work properly on some routers because they are designed for this hybrid system?, why are other devices being kicked from the network when i plug it in?

Your wireless wi-fi devices should be set to connect to the EE router, would look at this first. Very unusual for an ethernet port connection to do that.

Did you ever get an answer to this? I have a similar issue where connecting a Netgear PL1000 Powerline ethernet device to my Smart Hub causes all WiFi connected devices to lose connection. I’ve used these with no issues for two years with my previous Vodafone WiFi. Fortunately the SmartHub WiFi actually reaches the living room TV so I don’t really need them any more.
