EE BB & DV - can I use a my own router…?

I don’t have fibre BB, but use EE DV. I understand it is not possible to use another router as a primary (DV).

Can I use a second router ie; (TP-Link 605v2) and basically the point is so I can use a hardware VPN. To cover all the device’s in the home that arn’t otherwise protected by a VPN, and firewall etc..

Is this possible?

I know some of the setting’s I would need to update on the EE primary router - but I don’t want to lose the possibility of the hardware VPN or security firewall etc (2nd router) for any reason…I hope this is understandable to read, thank-you. 🙂

@gavin_smith you should be able to connect that to one f the LAN ports of the EE router, then which ever devices that need to be connected to the TP Link.
