topic EE smart router with discs and FTTP in Broadband & Landline

I'm considering upgrading to FTTP. I have been told that the new router for the FTTP is not compatible with the 'white discs' that I am currently using. I need these as we have an old cottage and getting the wifi in some places is impossible.

Can the EE router I already have ( oblong EE smart router with turquoise light in middle) be used as the router for the FTTP as opposed to the one that I will likely receive OR can someone comfirm my first statement?.

Thanks Frank

Also what speed of FTTP are you thinking of getting?

If your current router has a WAN post, which I beleive it has you should be able to configure the WAN port, however it will be restricted if you plan to go for the top speeds, and of coulrse you will not get the features available on the later router.

The newer router does come with discs, but can add to your monthly costs.
