Smart Hub Plus interface with DV adapter

Moved to EE from BT 19 June. All set up ok and incoming and outgoing calls ok with Digital Voice adapter. BUT HANDSET FUNCTIONALITY COMPROMISED - if you are calling a site that requires you to select options using the keypad the digits input are not recognised and connection is not made. The system worked to full capacity with BT and BT Smart Hub 2 and DV adapter. The phone system with Smart Hub Plus will work if the phone is connected direct to the hub. There seems to be an issue therefore between Smart Hub Plus and the DV adapter. A new EE DV adapter makes no difference. Just be aware for reference.

@JimboF48 Are you using a DECT style phone connection or the New advanced/essential range of digital voice phones made for BT only systems? Thanks for letting the issue be known regarding the functionality with the remote adapter.

@JimM11 : If it's using the digital adapter or, even when it does work, connected to the phone socket of the router, it must be a conventional landline phone, be it a corded phone or a DECT base station. The "New advanced/essential range of digital voice phones made for BT only systems" connect by wireless (DECT/GAP) to the DECT base station incorporated in the router.

Hi, thanks for your help. Curious how it all worked with BT Smart Hub 2. My phone is BT8500 Advanced Call Blocker Digital cordless with answering machine and two handsets. So from what you say this needs to be replaced. As things have moved on we don't now need the call blocker or the answering machine as these services are available in the system. QUESTION - we need two handsets. Will we need anything other than two of the new Digital Voice phones. And will these need DV Adaptors ? Your advice much appreciated.

The BT8500 base station should work plugged into the router or the digital adapter.

If you were to buy the new DV phones they don't plug into anything. They connect by wireless to the base station incorporated in the router. They are effectively slave handsets.

Thanks for your help we will get some new kit. So long as the BT8500 base unit is plugged directly to the router all systems go! But as I said at first if the base unit is plugged in to DV adapter the handsets do not have full functionality. As we want to put the phones where we want we will upgrade to the new kit . @JimboF48 Also be aware, that there is currently no method of backup/restore of any features regarding the new phone info and calling etc on the router, If you have to replace or reset you will lose all input that you have made with the new phones as all stored in the router memory. With the new DV advanced phones adapter is no longer required, just keep it in case you want to put the older model back on for any test purpose.
