i keep getting request timed out when pinging causes me to lag

i have tried everything but cant fix it.

i use a wifi adapter usb and i just switched to ee before i was on virgin and it worked fine but now it lags every 35 seconds

It's quite normal for pings to time out occasionally when the target is doing other more important things.

thank you for replying but it does not stop it will always time out every 35 seconds and pause as example when im playing a game it will pause my game for 4 seconds and keep doing that every 35 seconds so it is rlly annoying

is there no way to fix it?

@SRy0men An OP posted recently that he had logged into the router and set the wireless mode to wi-fi 5 and that fixed his gamming mode, card on the rear of the router for the details you need. Give it a try if you want.

this sort of did fix it however once i turn my pc off or restart it in anyway the problem comes back sometimes if i uninstall my wifi adapter usb it will work until i turn off or reset my pc

im trying to find out why i am getting the request time out ping because it is causing my wifi to pause and makes me lag alot

@SRy0men What other wireless devices are on the network at the same time? I have pinged for 5000 counts with nothing higher than 150ms in the whole period, and mostly when looking at them 3 to 4 ms with the odd jump but not very sequential, have also pinged google 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and never got above 20ms all using wireless. Are you sure it's not an interrupt on your pc that is causing the issue? If gamming and you want to use wi-fi may be try all other devices off if possible.

i have finally figured out the problem and feel very stupid now

all i had to do was get closer to the wifi which i did not think would work but it did

ethernet works too

@SRy0men Ethernet should be your first option if you wish to game on the pc, will always be better than wireless. Glad you worked it out.👍
