Recently upgraded from BT Full Fibre to EE 1 GB broadband; speeds at Hub are great still browsers are taking excruciatingly long to load any page. Tried clearing cache and cookies, no joys.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated

Best

Consider getting another Smart Hub 2 (Plusnet Hub 2 would also be fine if that's cheaper) from eBay - I tried to get EE to send me one but they wouldn't (but you can try - say your SH was better than the SH+).

Alternatively a third party router (hopefully someone else will come along with some suggestions, but would look at TPLink and ASUS). It's quite simple to set up (done it on my laptop already for testing purposes) - if you choose this route, you'll need the PPPOE details from this page: https://ee.co.uk/help/broadband/getting-started/using-and-configuring-a-third-party-router

It is 06/08/2025 and this problem was happening on my BRAND NEW EE ROUTER.

Here is how you fix this - which is a problem with EE DNS server being awful so you need to tell the router to use a different DNS server (use DDNS). Firstly we need to get one .. which is easy and they're free ..

1) Go to https://www.noip.com/

2) Get an account (free)

3) Go to Dynamic DNS (DDNS).

4) Choose to create a 'new group'. (free)

5) Choose a user_id - the system will tell you a password and all the other details you'll need to put into the router. Note them down.

6) Log into your router, admin (or advanced settings - then broadband), DNS, Dynamic DNS. Select 'Yes' for dynamic dns.

7) Put in all the details you now have from noip - select noip as the provider, press save

Problem 100% solved. Remember changing the DNS on your windows will do nothing and is pointless. You have to change it on the router.
