So how are you testing and with what? Also what spec cables are you using?

You will not get more than 960Mb from the ethernet ports, and may get more if your WiFi devices can cope.

Hello! I have a TP-Link Archer AX11000 router. I have connected it to the wall and used the 3rd party settings.

it connects fine, but when I run a speed test it says I’m only getting 600mb at the router. The EE router was hitting 1.6gb.

I tried connecting the TP Link router to the EE Router from LAN to WAN and TP link router stated I was getting 950+mb. I can’t think what the issue might be. The only setting I can’t find in the TP Link config is Authentication Type: CHAP.

Any ideas?

The 2nd way that you have is restricted due to the EE router only having 1Gb/s Ethernet port... And looking at the Archer spec's all the ports on it are 1Gb/s on the LAN, so it will not matter which ethernet test you do. If you have a AX wifi6 compatible phone or wi-fi device you may be able to test with this and get higher... Let us know.

Thanks for the reply. The speeds I am quoting are those hitting the router. If I plug the TP link direct to the ONT and test out of the LAN I still only get around 550mb, but I’d expect to get above 900mb

Does QoS have an affect?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I understand the 2nd way will be limited to 1gb, but if I connect by cat7 to my laptop I’m still only getting about 560mb.

What do mean by "hitting the router"? When you are doing a speedtest you are doing it from some device & its results are the speeds hitting that device.

Are you using Cat 6/7 to connect the router to the ONT

Ok, I understand. However, as I said, when the TP link router is direct to the ONT and I connect my laptop by cat 7, I still only get about 560mb
