I don't have VPN. Here is a website you can try. - github.io
It's a problem with any website hosted by github.io (GitHub pages).
It's working on other mobile providers like LycaMobile.

I have had no issues with trying to connect to certain websites for a long time, but suddenly overnight access to certain websites has suddenly vanished. The websites time out rather than connecting, and everything leads to this being an ISP problem due to the fact that it is only a couple of websites that are blocked rather than everything.

The websites that I have noticed are blocked so far are: legendsofidleon.com - the web client for an idle game that is PG13. The only thing that the website hosts is the game and a few links to helpful other sites, and the game itself isn't blocked as I can still play it through Steam

desktop.github.com - the download page for github desktop. Well known company, well known product, just not accessible for some reason.

Suggest you give the Broadband Care Team a call, the more they hear about such issues hopefully the quicker it will be resolved.

Both those sites time out for me too.

Usually when it happens that a site is suddenly not reachable after being OK for ages, it's something going on temporally at that site & so not within the remit of EE. Even EE's online a/c site is sometimes like that 😉 !

It is working via O2 mobile, or try a VPN if you have one.

It was working for other providers. I could tether another phone on non-ee data and load the same website on my laptop. I find it highly unlikely that nothing changed at EE. I wasted yesterday debugging this issue and 2 more hours on the phone with support this morning. The least you can do is investigate and acknowledge the issue. I am sorry to say I am disappointed with EE Support.

In case anybody's curious: all the affected sites are hosted by GitHub Pages, along with hundreds, maybe thousands, of other websites - they all share the same block of network addresses. It looks like somebody was hosting malware on a Github Pages site, which meant that Spamhaus.org flagged that block of IP addresses as suspicious. Which meant that BT's network started blocking traffic to any website hosted on any of those addresses. Same thing happened for Plusnet broadband customers, so I guess EE and Plusnet both rely on BT as their upstream network provider.

https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Fibre-broadband/DNS-Issues/td-p/2387163

https://community.plus.net/t5/Broadband/Website-seems-to-be-blocked-inaccessible-via-PlusNet/m-p/1972514

https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/127187

Seems to be back up now, both for EE and Plusnet, although as of 11:06 on June 4th those addresses (185.199.108.153, 185.199.109.153, 185.199.110.153, 185.199.111.153) still show up in Spamhaus' block list so I'm guessing BT have done something to make sure those addresses don't get filtered?

https://check.spamhaus.org/sbl/listings/fastly.com/
