Landline - when is the switch to VOIP arriving for EE customers?

Hi all.

My understanding is that all analogue/POTS telephone lines in the UK have a fairly short future (no longer than end of 2025, but some providers are acting sooner). I've googled and failed to find any definitive information about when EE will switch its customers to VOIP, but one article suggested (without sources, IIRC) that it would be Spring 2024, i.e. awfully soon.

I'm wondering if anyone knows of definitive information about this?

(My motivation for asking: I'm considering a move away from EE, which would quite likely force me to VOIP; since I'm not terribly keen to lose the POTS line, this bit is a negative, but if my EE line is on the brink of going away anyway then I can stop caring about that bit :-))

@Neilski it is a good question and have only seen similar information as you.

BT Retail have published an outline plan - will try and find the link later - but nothing similar from EE. I imagine they will swap people over as contracts come up for renewal, and the voice element os only on a 30 day notice period presumably so that people can try it to see if they like it, or perhaps switch to a more feature rich product elsewhere.

That said you will need to use the new EE router which seems to be having some teething troubles!

With luck we may get an official answer from one of the new EE Team.
