They cannot charge you for ringing an 0800 number, where do you get that from?

You can also try this number:

08009566000

Need my account number to view bills

The only way to get the account number, is on the bills? How on earth am I supposed to find my account number if I need the number to view the number? I received no confirmation e-mail either.

What kind of moron thought this was a good idea?

Home broadband

Had it for 20 months or so, and I'm not sure if my contract was 24 months or they just didn't bother telling me 18months has come to an end.

I get monthly emails saying my bill is ready to view, and the amount, but it redirects me to the website and asks me to link my broadband, which requires an account number that apparently only exists on the bill.

Here is the free number, they should be able to help:

08000798586

Have you logged into your router and checked there?

Their number is only free if you call from an EE network. I'm not paying them to find out information they should be providing to me for free.

Its quite clear they have designed it this way to force non EE phone members to pay to access their accounts. There's no logical reason to withhold billing statements behind a second layer of verification.

Ofcom has stipulated that all 0800 & 0808 nos. are free to call from all UK networks, mobile & landline. What makes you think otherwise?

They recently changed their BB contact no. from a 0800 Freephone to a 0330 non-geographic which on most plan is inclusive, i.e. free in most circumstances.
