@Paula125 if you have had a message to say your broadband is ready the router should take a minute or two to activate.

I have the router but not recieved any message yet. How long after i have had the router will i get the message and also will it be phone or email message???

Usually you receive the router a day or 2 before you go live but you need to receive an email confirming the day on which you go live.
