I placed an order today to move from BT broadband to EE broadband and I am worried I will loose access to three btinternet email addresses I have or will be reduced to just web access. Is this the case or can these email addresses be kept active and accessible via email clients such as mail on Apple devices?

It's a total disaster. I've been moved to EE without consent and no mention was made about email addresses only being available on webmail. Totally impractical and pointless. I'm now not receiving emails as I'd expect.

Total disaster. No mention made of this vital service change. All I wanted to do was renew with BT not be moved without knowing to EE.

Hello Chris

I went online to renee but was only offered Halo3+. I didn't need that I just wanted to renew what I had. I rang BT to see what they could do. I had no idea I was dealing with someone from EE. I wasn't at all comfortable and said I needed time to think about it. The advisor agreed to call me back later after I'd thought about it. Within minutes of ending the call I received emails from EE saying welcome! I couldn't believe it. Now I'm out of the country and keep receiving credentials messages about my btinternet.com email addresses. It was not made clear at all that these would only be available on webmail. I can't realistically keep logging on to webmail. Please can you contact BT to re-establish my email service as it was.

I'm not in a position to call the UK as I haven't got any idea about the cost involved from the US

Ideally someone should take ownership of this problem and resolve it. I didn't cause the problem so it shouldn't be down to me to fix it. EE failed to disclose that my email service would change. Please liaise with BT to return my email service as it was. This is very stressful even more so whilst away. I've had seamless service from BT but the move to EE without my permission is disgraceful. Please enable me to access emails from my app not webmail

As a broader point, relying on ISP-provided email is generally a bad idea for numerous reasons when compared with either a domain-based account or an independent provider such as G-Mail or suchlike.

You may find a better long-term solution is to consider migrating.

This may well be the case, but when we first set up our email addresses 20+ years ago, no-one knew how things would evolve (phone apps etc) and that our email addresses would become our User IDs for almost every account we ever opened. Most websites let you change your contact email address but it is almost impossible to change your User ID online. Have you tried changing your email address for 100 or more accounts, many of which you cannot remember setting up? Your answer may be true but it is rather trite and does not help with the current BT/EE migration problem. I have four family email addresses on my BT account and we all use our phones to access them. Do not want to be forced to use the website - this is a backward step. I will not be migrating until they sort this out.
