That's still not the point tho is it I agreed to the charge as they said it
was needed but clearly wasn't needed therefore neither the visit or charge
were needed so my point is valid I shouldn't be charged for a line that was
already active when ee specifically said wasn't

Hi I was told an engineer would need to come to my address as I had no active phone line but when the engineer came he said he didn't have to come as he knew the address as he'd put this live not few months before for the old Tennant who sadly died before I moved in I was told there is a 50 pound charge and have looked at my bill and there is the charge am I liable to pay this as the engineer wasn't even required and was only sent because ee said it was necessary and it clearly wasn't so I'm a little reluctant to pay that charge as you mite imagine is there a way of making this charge dissappear

The best way to try to get a reduction on this would be to ring EE direct and try to resolve with them - I’d imagine it depends on whom picks the phone up !

most people on this forum are customers like yourself - so billing needs to be discussed direct with EE.

As you have no active phone line, even tho' there may have been a few months ago for the previous tenant but had since been deactivated, you are liable to pay:

• New line engineer visit - this may be required if your property does not have a BT compatible line already in place (a BT compatible phone line is required to join EE Broadband or Fibre Broadband) £50.00

Why do you think your service would magically work without an engineer making the connection at the exchange and/or cabinet?
