The Red SH port marked "WAN" isn't actually WAN unless you configure it ON (which you shouldn't for DSL). So it's a LAN port.

Yes, & if I could see its WAN settings I might be able to guide you.

Hi.

I have purchased a new router which is TP-Link Next-Gen Wi-Fi 6 AX5400 Mbps Gigabit Dual Band Wireless Router which i read you can use with the EE Smarthub (DSL) as an access point. But i am unable to get it to work. Do i need to do anything on the SH? Or is it best just to return that and grab a new stand alone router which the telephone line will go directly into it? If so, any recommendations?

Thansk

Have you connected a LAN port of the SH to the WAN port of TP-Link?

What have you put as the WAN Settings of the TP-Link?

I connected the ethernet cable to from the TP-Link WAN port the the EE SH WAN port on back of router.

I then read online I had to change the setting on the TP link to access only? Or was that incorrect, as that didnt fix it either.

Ok, so i was being really dumb. It was set to WAN so i have switched it to a LAN port and it seems the internet is now connected via the TP-Link router.

So as its now completed. whats the best thing to do with the SH so it only acts as the modem only and everything else goes through TP-Link?

Good!

The SH can't act as modem only. The most you can do is disable wireless on the SH so all WiFi goes thro' the TP-Link.

Thank you, I did that last night. I'm guessing when my area finally gets the Full Fibre to the house i can actually dump the SH and just use the TP-Link?
