Thanks XRaySpeX for your reply. My old 24 month contract came to an end 30th June 2023. On 7th June I negotiated a new 24 month contract that was due to start 1st July but the guy on the phone said it would have to be 30th June because they couldn't start on a weekend (?). On 27th June I received an email stating that my direct debit to be taken on 11th July would be 12 pounds more than the old or the new contract. Will it correct itself or not?

My contract ends 31st June, new contract follows on with no break. On 27th June I have received a bill which is greater than either contracts even though I have not used more units than contracted. Will I receive an automatic refund or should I complain?

These BB contracts don't just end, just the min. term expires. They are not fixed term contracts. After the min. term they just carry on at the non-discounted price on a rolling 14-days' notice basis until you explicitly migrate, cancel or upgrade.

When you reach the end of your min. contract term your bill will increase at that time as you would've been informed when you took it out. You can see this even now with EE's current offers:

Fibre Plus Broadband

54-73 Mb/s estimated download speed range

£27 a month, 24 month contract, then £32 a month

Which EE BB package do you have?

Instead of letting your current contract run on at the higher price, all you have to do is commit to a new 24-month contract for the same BB package at a lower price than you are paying now. You can do this online thro' your MyEE for BB under Change your broadband plan .
