You will find on the EE website the help article How is Fibre to the Premises installed? That should give you a good idea of the steps involved in installing FTTP.

No, the box outside the house is the fibre cable terminator, called the Customer Service Point (CSP), which does not involve the entry of an engineer to the property. The Optical Network Termination (ONT), which is the FTTP modem, is installed on the inside wall of the property, usually opposite to the CSP. A small hole is drilled between them to connect with a fibre cable.

To get it from EE you need to order a Full Fibre Max product from EE Broadband Deals

Hi

Openreach have installed fibre on the road we have just purchased a house on. The house I've purchased isn't yet connected to the fibre - i think it just has an old BT phone line. I've watched a video on BT and it explains that an openreach engineer will come and install a box outside the house before Bt come in and connect to it. I can't find anything on the EE site which explains the process.

I ask because i was previously with Virgin and noticed in the house we were buying virgin didn't supply a service so I've taken a contract with EE in my temporary rental house and wanted to transfer the service once we move in.

EE use the same openreach service as many other suppliers, so you should be able to order FTTP from EE. It may take a while to get it up and running, depending on engineer availability in the area.

Give the Broadband Care Team a call in the morning or when you get a chance to give you a better idea of timescales.
