Wifi signal

Wifi was brilliant last month got a new router sent out and the upload speed is shockingly slow 0.6mgb clearly states on the website I’d receive a minimum speed of 16 download speed isn’t even close to that what exactly am I paying for other than a terrible signal I can’t even get on ee website unless I use my data on my phone

Which routers have you changed from/to? Was this cuz you changed BB package? If so, which BB package have you changed from/to?

EE cancelled my broadband without any warning said that another broadband
supplier owned the line that I have to my house it worked brilliant for a
month then stopped so got in touch and they explained that another company
had cancelled my broadband cause they had the rental rights to the line and
not ee so I paid for an engineer to come and put a line in for me he didn’t
do it he just plugged the new router thst had been sent out into my phone
line it’s the same router as I had a month ago and I’m getting half the
signal I was 4 weeks ago

So I still need to know which router is it?

To whom did you pay for an engineer? Was it EE?

You really need to sort out which provider owns your line.

Wifi signal is and has been rubbish since I got it connected was guaranteed 16 mb and I’m getting 5.8 mb

@Brianbuckham And how fast is a wired connection with the router ? guaranteed speed is not over Wi-Fi it’s a wired connection. Your home will have an effect on the Wi-Fi signal.

That is the signal strength with the Ethernet cable plugged in

@Brianbuckham : Welcome to EE's Home Broadband Forum.

If you would like help with your BB speed or connection issues, please would you carry out the following steps for starters, which will enable us to diagnose the problem and advise you further. Do not restart your router to do these tests:

1. Post your full router stats:

For a BrightBox: login and go to Advanced Settings > System > DSL Status. Also post 'System Uptime' from top of System Log page.
For a SmartHub: login and go to Advanced Settings > Technical Log > Information. Obscure your names & any numbers in the BB Username & also the SSIDs.

Full router stats are key to any speed & connection issues.

2. Try a wired speedtest, using an Ethernet cable supplied with the router, here http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html . Click on the "Results Page" button at the bottom of the graph you first see and then copy to here just the "Link to this result:" link that you see below the next main graph.

3. What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker, not the Postcode Checker.

@Brianbuckham So your doing that speed test via a PC/laptop that is directly connected to the router via a Ethernet cable to the router ? That’s not Wi-Fi as Wi-Fi is a wireless connection to the router.
