I'm having an issue where most devices in my home after upgrading to 500mb speed struggle to hit 100mb wired or wireless. The main items being used are 2 phones, PS5, TV and 1 Chromecast. The PS5 and TV are hardwired but constantly buffer and 1 of the 2 phones is only capable of hitting 250mb+ speed (the phone hitting this speed is a worse phone out the 2)

Ive had engineers out and their devices show up ass 500mb+ after speed test ls so the fault isn't in the line, Ive had a new smart router sent out and the issue is the same but the issues only occured since the upgrade.

It's a strange one but any help is appreciated!

Were the devices getting higher speeds before the upgrade?

What speed broadband did you have before?

Could it be this is the fastest your devices can go?

Have you tried better cables to the wired devices?

Is the router reporting full speed on the WAN interface to the ONT?

Sorry, I was upgraded from 300mb to 500mb last month

Yes, before we averaged wireless about 200mb on the 300mb deal

All the devices should be hitting well above 500mb (the PS5 especially since it's our highest spec tech in our house)

Downstream and upstream are both showing 1000mb if that's what your asking? Sorry, I'm not too tech savvy

But from what you have said, I would question the results. It is impossible to get the same upload speeds. You won't get well above 500 on a 500 service.

Apart from speed tests which seem to be missleading, are you getting any issues?

WAN is saying 1000mbps

What I meant was it wouldn't matter the speed I was paying for, the PS5 should handle it so if I'm paying for 500 I should be getting 500 not 100

Having no other issues, buffering speed is slow and quality can drop but that's expected with the speed

I know I'm no expert but it's an extremely strange issue, there's no reason I can think of why near all my home devices won't hit speed but engineers can get it when they check

Are the engineers testing from the router, or direct on the ONT?

Which router do you have, the black smart hub, or white smart router?
